As Christmas Day arrives, we’re taking a moment to reflect on an incredible year and to say thank you to the community of Madluggers, who make Madlug possible.
2025 has been shaped by a shared belief: every child and young person in care deserves dignity. This belief has come to life in classrooms, care settings, festivals, partnerships, and countless everyday moments of kindness across the UK.
We’ve seen communities step up in powerful ways, like Moorbridge School in North Tyneside, whose fundraised over £3,000 to ensure care-experienced children in North Tyneside could receive pack-away travel bags, going far beyond their original goal of raising £200!
June 2025 also marked two huge milestones for Madlug: 125,000 pack-away travel bags donated since we began, and 10 years of Madlug. Each bag represents so much more than a practical item; it’s a reminder to care-experienced young people that they are incredible, and that they deserve value, worth and dignity.
Through advocacy events like My Things Matter, new partnerships such as The National House Project, and moments of connection at The Madlug Pop Up Experience in Leeds, we’ve had incredible opportunities to share the Madlug story and stand alongside care-experienced young people as we work together for change.
In 2025 alone, 18,573 pack-away travel bags were given to children and young people in care across the UK. This Christmas, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to every Madlugger, your support makes all of this possible.
From all of us at Madlug, we wish you a joyful Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
